Why did you choose Moravian College?
Moravian offers everything that I want.  When I was searching for colleges I wanted to go to a small school where I could run DIII Cross Country and Track and Field all year round, participate in music, and be a part of a renowned nursing program.  Luckily I can pursue all of these here.

What is your major and why?
My major is nursing.  I chose nursing because I believe it's so rewarding in so many ways and I'm passionate about helping others in their most vulnerable times.

What has been your favorite course at Moravian and why?
My favorite course at Moravian is Pharmacology.

What are your plans for the future once you finish your degree at Moravian?
Once I graduate, I hope to obtain my RN license and work in either an emergency room or trauma center in a hospital

What is your most memorable moment as a Greyhound?
My most memorable moment at Moravian was winning conferences for cross country my freshman year.

How has being an athlete helped you as a student?
Running is most definitely the biggest stress reliever for me.  If I'm having a rough day with school, I can always count on practice time with my teammates/best friends to make me feel loads better.  Also, being an athlete has helped me become more organized and efficient with time management and scheduling

What is the hardest part of your sport?
The hardest part of cross country is the mental aspect of it, without a doubt.  We always know that races are going to hurt, hills are going to be torture, and there will be times where we just want to quit.  However, mental strength can overpower any negative thought as long as we allow ourselves to believe it.

Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome.
The biggest obstacle I've had to overcome with cross country and track is an eating disorder.  I was diagnosed with anorexia athletica about a year ago and it caused many difficulties within the seasons.  However, with the right amount of support and the right kind of help, I've been able to work through this illness.  Currently, I'm the healthiest I've ever been, and that's one of the greatest achievements I've ever accomplished.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Moravian?

Community service is important to me as a student-athlete because I can be a role model for other students.  Many look up to students with a positive regard and if they see us doing good in the community, they can follow our leadership in a way that will undoubtedly benefit the Moravian community.

What advice do you have for a prospective Moravian College student-athlete?
Being a student-athlete at Moravian is one of the best decisions I've ever made.  It's hard at first because we're all unsure of how to balance everything right off the bat, but if you stick with it and use the help that's provided to you, you will learn to manage everything and still enjoy your time at Moravian. :)
