Insurance and Financial Responsibility

The Moravian University Athletic department will hold and maintain a secondary insurance policy to support any acute injuries that occur in intercollegiate athletic activities (i.e.- competitions, practices, workouts, conditioning). Chronic type injuries (Stress injuries, tendinitis, etc) will not be covered by the secondary insurance policy. A student-athlete's primary insurance will always be utilized first, and the athletic department's secondary policy will be billed the remaining balance to ensure no cost to the student-athlete or family. If at any time, student-athletes or families receive medical bills for care of an athletic-related injury they should send those to the Sports Medicine Department's Head Athletic Trainer to address.

We strongly encourage student-athletes and families to have a primary insurance provider as any and all illnesses or injuries that occur outside of athletic participation, while it can be facilitated by the sports medicine department, will be the financial responsibility of the student-athlete and family.
