Moravian's Strayhorn & Blair Were Named to Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Team of the Year

Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Media Organization Team of the Year

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior Alexandra Blair and junior D.J. Strayhorn from the Moravian College basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Team of the Year by the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization at its final luncheon of the 2011-12 season at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem.

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.

Blair, a forward, has helped Moravian to a 15-9 overall record and an 8-5 Landmark Conference record. The Greyhounds have already clinched its 11th straight postseason appearance as well. Blair is ranked ninth in NCAA Division III with 3.5 blocks per game (83 this season). She leads the Greyhounds with 13.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game to go with her 49 assists and 22 steals. Blair recorded the first triple-double in school history versus Elizabethtown (12/6/12) off of 14 points, 12 blocks and ten rebounds.

Joining Blair on the Team of the Year were Lizzy Sunderhaus from Cedar Crest, Emily Soper of Delaware Valley, Sondrine Glovas from DeSales, Cyara Woodridge of East Stroudsburg, Ashley Wood from Kutztown and Alexandra Chili of Muhlenberg. Chili was selected as the Pete Nevins Women's Player of the Year in a vote by the media, coaches and sports information directors in attendance.

Strayhorn, a guard, has helped Moravian men to a 12-12 record and a 7-6 mark in Landmark Conference play. The Greyhounds have clinched its first trip to postseason play since the 2008 season. Strayhorn is currently ranked 46th in NCAA Division III with 19.2 points per game. He also leads the Greyhounds in assists (71) and steals (47) to go with his 48 rebounds.

Joining Strayhorn on the Team of the Year were Nathan Bollinger of Delaware Valley, Brett Moyer from DeSales, Duane Johnson of East Stroudsburg, Nate Edwards from Kutztown and Spencer Liddic of Muhlenberg. Liddic was selected as the Pete Nevins Men's Player of the Year in a vote by the media, coaches and sports information directors in attendance.
