Petros Selected to CoSIDA Football Academic All-District IV Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior wide receiver/punter Nick Petros of the Moravian College football squad has been named to the 2020-21 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Football Team for NCAA Division III schools in District IV.

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.30 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. District IV in NCAA Division III is made up of schools from Pennsylvania. Moravian has had 53 Greyhounds named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans®.

By making the All-District First Team, Petros is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CoSIDA Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Wednesday, July 14. There are a total of 17 student-athletes from the Centennial Conference on Academic All-District Teams.

Petros has played in 30 games during his career, and he will be returning to the Greyhounds' line-up in the fall to finish his playing career after the 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Petros is currently tied for seventh in program history with 120 career receptions, and he is fifth all-time at Moravian with 1,789 receiving yards and tied for second with 17 career touchdown catches, just one shy of the school record.

As a punter, Petros is eighth in program history with 137 punts for 4,909 yards while his 35.8 yards per punt is tied for sixth all-time and his career long of 74 yards in a school record. He has also returned 10 kickoffs in his career for 192 yards. Petros was selected to the Centennial All-Conference First Team in 2018 while earning a spot on the Centennial All-Conference Honorable Mention squad in 2019.

Off the field, Petros has a 3.36 GPA as an accounting major and management minor. He was named to Moravian's Dean's Honors List four times during his collegiate career.
