BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad took an early lead in its 2022 season opener with DeSales University under the lights on John Makuvek; however, it was the Bulldogs that would earn the victory 41 seconds into overtime for the 2-1 win over the Hounds.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute as sophomore forward Sydney Anderson knocked in a pass from senior midfielder Maddie Call. Moravian would hold that edge into the second half
- DeSales tied the contest in the third quarter, and the squads remained knotted at 1-1 through the end of regulation
- The Bulldogs needed just 41 seconds in overtime to score the winning goal
Inside the Numbers
- Anderson is the Greyhounds' top returning scorer, and her goal was the 16th of her career while Call recorded her seventh career assist
- Senior goalie Brooke Wilkinson posted seven saves
- Moravian finished the contest with a 17-12 advantage in shots and a 12-11 edge in penalty corners
