Greyhounds Race Past Rangers in Landmark Conference Action

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad raced past visiting Drew University, 6-0, in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds would get on the scoreboard in the 14th minute as junior forward Bekkah Kehoe was the last player to get a stick on a ball in the circle and knock it into the cage for an unassisted goal. The 1-0 lead held up until the intermission
  • Moravian made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute when senior midfielder Emily Wells connected on a shot for the goal
  • The Greyhounds doubled the advantage to 4-0 in a span of 19 seconds in the 38th minute. Junior defender Onalee Long had a blocked shot bounce to her stick, and she blasted a long shot into the cage. Just 19 seconds later sophomore forward Sydney Anderson connected off a pass from junior forward Hanna Leto
  • Anderson and Leto partnered again on another goal in the 52nd minute as Leto sent a pass into the circle to Anderson
  • Moravian finished off the scoring in the 58th minute as junior defender Jenna Segrave took a penalty corner inserted by Wells and drilled a long shot from just inside the top of the circle into the cage

Inside the Numbers

  • Kehoe earned her third goal of the season and the seventh of her career while Wells increased her career totals to 16 goals and 16 assists. Wells now has sole possession of fifth in school history with her 16 assists, and she is two points shy of becoming the 15th Greyhound to 50 career points
  • Anderson became the 14th Hound to 50 career points as she netted her 22nd and 23rd career goals to move into a tie for 11th in career goals. Anderson leads Moravian with eight goals this fall
  • Long netted her second goal of 2022 and the third of her career while Leto now has six career assists with three this year
  • Segrave's goal was her first as a Greyhound
  • Senior goalie Brooke Wilkinson did not face a shot as she picked up her fourth shutout of the season and the ninth of her career. The victory was Wilkinson's 18th to move her into a tie for fifth in program history
  • Moravian finished the afternoon with a 30-0 advantage in shots and a 19-3 edge in penalty corners
