Moravian Drops Final Non-Conference Match of 2022 in Contest at Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. --- The Moravian University field hockey team dropped its final non-conference match of the 2022 season in a 4-1 loss at Ramapo College of New Jersey Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Roadrunners jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute
  • The Greyhounds countered about three minutes later as junior midfielder Sarah Bietka knocked in a loose ball on a penalty corner to knot the match at 1-1
  • Neither squad was able to find the cage in the second quarter as the scored remained tied at 1-1 at the intermission
  • Ramapo tallied a pair of goals in the third quarter and one more marker in the fourth to finish off the scoring 

Inside the Numbers

  • Bietka's goal was her second of the season, and it was her eighth career goal with the Hounds
  • Senior goalie Brooke Wilkinson posted eight saves in the match
  • Junior defender Jenna Segrave recorded a defensive save, her fourth of the season since transferring to Moravian
  • Ramapo finished the afternoon with a 28-17 advantage in shots and a 14-7 edge in penalty corners
