Fourth Seed Moravian to Travel Third Seed The Catholic University of America for Landmark Conference Field Hockey Championship on November 5

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The fourth seed Moravian University field hockey team will travel to third seed The Catholic University of America for the 2022 Landmark Conference Championship match, the Greyhounds' first-ever appearance in a conference title contest, on Saturday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m.

Admission to Saturday's match is $7 for adults and $4 for minors ages 10-17 and seniors 62 and older. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID. Tickets can be purchased via Hometown Ticketing at https://landmarkconference.org/sports/2022/4/25/championships-tickets.aspx?path=champs.

The winner of the championship match will earn a berth to the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. The field for the NCAA Tournament will be announced during a selection show on Sunday, November 6 at 10:30 p.m. on www.ncaa.com. Moravian advanced with a 1-0 victory over top seed The University of Scranton while Catholic reached the final by defeating second seeded Susquehanna University by the same score in the Semifinals on Wednesday.

The Greyhounds, who are 8-10 overall and were 4-3 in the Landmark Conference regular season, are under the direction of third-year Head Coach Sarah Dalrymple, who is in her second season on the field with the 2020 campaign cancelled by the pandemic. Dalrymple led Moravian to a historic season in 2021 with the program earning its first-ever Landmark Conference Tournament appearance and the first postseason berth for the Greyhounds since 1987.

Moravian has made five postseason appearances including 2022, falling in the Landmark Conference Semifinals in 2021 to Catholic, 3-2 in overtime on John Makuvek Field, going 1-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Northeast League Playoffs in 1987 and falling in the MAC Quarterfinals in both 1984 and 1985.

Sophomore forward Sydney Anderson leads the Blue & Grey with 12 goals and three assists as she became the 15th player in program history to reach 20 career goals earlier this season. Anderson is tied for seventh in school history with 27 career goals, and her 61 points are tied for sixth. Senior midfielder Emily Wells has contributed four goals and seventh assists as she became the 15th player in school history to reach 50 career points, and Wells is fifth all-time with 19 career assists and 14th in career points with 53 while junior forward Bekkah Kehoe has five goals and an assist in 2022.

Senior midfielder Maddie Call has registered three goals including the game-winning goal in the Greyhounds' 1-0 semifinal victory at Scranton and four assists this fall while junior defender Onalee Long and junior forward Hanna Leto both have two goals and three assists. Junior midfielder Sarah Bietka has added two goals and two assists while senior midfielder Mackenzie Jakobsen and junior defender Jenna Segrave each have two goals and one assist on the year. Freshman forward Brooke Sodl and junior midfielder Maria Tice have both hit the cage once while sophomore forward Marianna Crisafulli has added one assist.

Senior goalie Brooke Wilkinson has posted 83 saves, six shutouts, an 8-10 mark and a 1.50 goals-against average in 1,121 minutes of action on the year. Wilkinson ranks third all-time with a 1.484goals-against average, third in shutouts with 11, tied for third in victories with 21, seventh with a .759 save percentage, eighth in minutes played with 2,290 and ninth with 173 saves in her career.

Segrave has also contributed four defensive saves while Long has three defensive saves. Call has added two defensive saves while senior defender Elise Keeney has one defensive save.

Moravian fell to the Cardinals, 2-1, when the two teams met in Washington, D.C. on October 22 with the Hounds taking a 1-0 lead in the first quarter and Catholic scoring twice in 34 seconds in the second quarter.
