Moravian Sits in Second after Opening Round of Golden Oaks Shootout

FLEETWOOD, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's golf fired a nine-over par team score of 297 to sit in second place of 12 schools after the first 18 holes of the Golden Oaks Shootout at the Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood Friday.

How It Happened

  • The Hounds are three strokes behind leader and host Arcadia University, which scored a 294 in the opening round
  • Cabrini University is in third place after the first 18 holes with a 301
  • The second round is scheduled for Saturday, October 1 and the Greyhounds will be in the later tee times

Moravian Results

  • Freshman Jake Haberstumpf led the Greyhounds with a two-under par round of 70 on the par 72 course to sit second overall of the 65 golfers in the tournament. Haverstumpf carded six birdies and nine pars in his round
  • Sophomore Jason Koch is tied for 10th after the opening 18 holes with a three-over par round of 75 that included one birdie and 13 pars
  • Sophomore TJ Bohl and senior Andrew Hozza are both tied for 12th with first rounds of 76 to sit at four-over par. Bohl had four birdies and seven pars while Hozza sank a pair of birdies and 12 pars in his round
  • Senior Jack Wagner carded an opening round 85 and is tied for 45th. Wagner recorded a birdie and seven pars
