Greyhounds Finish Third at The Melee at Riverview as Haberstumpf Captures Medalist Honors

EASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's golf team finished third of 11 teams in two-day Melee at Riverview Country Club that completed the second round on Sunday.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds finished with a score of 596 after a 300 on Sunday
  • Swarthmore College won the tournament with a 591 as the Garnet shot 294 in the second round Farmingdale State College also had a 294 on Sunday to finish second with a 594

Moravian Results

  • Freshman Jake Haberstumpf birdied two of the final four holes to shoot a two-under round of 69 to win the tournament with an even par score of 142, taking first by a stroke among the 58 golfers. The win was Haberstumpf's fourth medalist honor of the fall, and his second round at Riverview included five birdies and 10 pars
  • Sophomore Jason Koch placed eighth with a 148 after a Sunday round of 75 that included two birdies and 10 pars
  • Sophomore TJ Bohl finished in a tie for 16th overall at 152. Bohl carded a 78 in the second round with two birdies and eight pars
  • Freshman Robbie McNelly played the tournament as an individual and was part of the tie for 16th with Bohl. McNelly shot an even par round of 71 on Sunday that included two birdies and 14 pars
  • Senior Jack Wagner was tied for 32nd with a 158, and he had a second round score of 82 with a birdie and seven pars
  • Senior Andrew Hozza was one stroke behind at 159 and in a tie for 159th. Hozza recorded a birdie and 11 pars in his second round score of 78
