Haberstumpf Earns Third Landmark Conference Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week Accolade

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University freshman Jake Haberstumpf has earned his third Landmark Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week accolade of the fall season for his performance last week.

Haberstumpf, who garnered the award for a second straight week, won another tournament and tied for second in the Greyhounds other action last week. Haberstumpf shot a seven-over par 75 with 11 birdies to tie for second of 15 golfers as Moravian won its seventh straight John Makuvek Cup Thursday. It was the first time this fall that Haberstumpf had not won medalist. Over the weekend, Haberstumpf earned his fifth medalist honor of the fall with a 36-hole score of 143 to finish three over par and lead the 40 golfers. Haberstumpf had an opening round of 72 that included four birdies and 10 pars, and he added a 71 in the second round as he carded three birdies and 10 pars to win the tournament by four strokes.

"Jake had a great fall, winning five of six events including the conference preview by four shots," commented Head Men's Golf Coach Kevin Edwards. "I'm looking forward to him continuing his strong play this spring."

The Greyhounds have completed their fall season, and the squad is scheduled to return to the links on March 18-19, 2023 at The Ruckus played at the Williamsburg National Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia.
