TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College freshman Daniel Salimnejad has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Salimnejad was 1-0 in singles action in the Greyhounds' first match of the spring season, earning a straight sets victory at second singles versus Penn State Harrisburg in Hilton Head, South Carolina in the Spring TennisFest. Moravian fell by a final of 5-4 in the match. Salimnejad also played at second doubles in the match.
"We're excited to have Daniel back after injuries kept him sidelined for a while this season," stated first-year Director of Tennis Aaron Wilf. "He's off to a great start with a good win yesterday at #2 singles, and we know he'll be an impact player for us moving forward."
Moravian is slated to be back in action on Monday, March 4 when the squad plays Randolph (Va.) College at 2:30 p.m. in the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head.
