DALLAS, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's swimming squad finished fifth of six teams at the two-day Cougar Splash Invitational hosted by Misericordia University at Dallas Middle School on Friday and Saturday.

How It Happened

• Freshman Sarah Mazzetti recorded a time of 6:34.52 in the 500-yard freestyle Friday night, and she earned 10 points Saturday morning with a fifth-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 5:46.67. Mazzetti also swam the 200-yard freestyle in the second session with a time of 2:27.21, and she had a time of 1:07.32 in the 100-yard freestyle in Saturday evening's session. Mazzetti added four points with a time of 3:08.93 in the 200-yard breaststroke in her final individual event
• Freshman Catie Lovett earned three points with a ninth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle on Friday in a PR time of 26.61 seconds, she recorded a PR time of 1:10.35 in the 100-yard backstroke Saturday morning. In the final session, Lovett earned two points with a PR time of 1:00.10 in the 100-yard freestyle
• Junior Jaelyn Mitchell posted a time of 6:26.08 in the 500-yard freestyle on Friday, and she had a time of 2:17.65 in the 200-yard freestyle Saturday morning. Mitchell garnered seven points for a seventh place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a PR time of 2:42.22 in the Saturday night session
• Junior Marissa Werner had a PR time of 28.12 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle on Friday. She posted a time of 1:14.65 in the 100-yard butterfly Saturday morning, and Werner recorded a time of 1:05.18 in the 100-yard freestyle in the final session
• Junior Sydney Steere posted a PR time of 31.51 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle in the opening session, and she recorded a PR time of 1:28.01 in the 100-yard backstroke Saturday morning. Steere registered a PR time of 1:10.58 in the 100-yard freestyle in the closing session
• The Greyhounds picked up 10 points with an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay Friday evening with the quartet of Lovett, Werner, Mitchell and Steere had a season-best time of 1:54.93
• The Hounds added another 10 points in the 400-yard medley relay as Werner, Mazzetti, Mitchell and Lovett combined for a time of 4:49.38
• On Saturday morning, Werner, Mazzetti, Mitchell and Lovett recorded a time of 2:09.41 in the 200-yard medley relay to garner 18 points
• To close out the meet Saturday night, Lovett, Mitchell, Mazzetti and Werner posted a time of 4:14.18 in the 400-yard freestyle relay
• Moravian scored 74 points in the three-session meet
