ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis squad posted a 9-0 sweep of host Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference action Sunday to finish the 2021 regular season undefeated at 8-0 overall and 7-0 in conference contests.
How It Happened
- The Hounds started the afternoon with three wins in doubles action with seniors Brooke Adams and Kristen Cassidy earning an 8-1 victory at second doubles to start the scoring. Sophomores Julianne Cassady and Cristina Merone were done next with an 8-3 triumph at third doubles while seniors Emma Angle and Mary Angle needed a tiebreaker to win at first doubles, 8-7 (7-4)
- Moravian captured all six singles contests in straight sets with Emma Angle finishing her first singles match with a 6-0, 6-3 victory, followed by Mary Angle at second singles in 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the winning team point. Adams completed her third singles contest with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph, and she was followed by Cassidy, who was victorious by a 6-0, 6-0 score at fifth singles. Cassady then had a 6-2, 6-0 win at fourth singles while sophomore Maddie Figiel finished the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at sixth singles
