BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis team defeated Bryn Mawr College, 9-0, in non-conference action in Timothy Breidegam Field House Sunday as the Greyhounds won their third straight match of the spring and sixth consecutive match of the 2021-22 season.
How It Happened
- The Hounds had a 3-0 lead after doubles action. The Blue and Grey took a 1-0 advantage when the second doubles squad of juniors Cristina Merone and Maddie Figiel posted an 8-2 win. Moravian made it 2-0 after the duo of junior Julianne Cassady and senior Morgan Colver claimed an 8-3 victory at first doubles. The Greyhounds earned an 8-7 (7-4) triumph at third doubles as the tandem of sophomore Mara Stapleton and freshman Rose Lombardo rallied from a 3-0 deficit for the win and gave Moravian a 3-0 edge heading into singles action
- Colver was the first to finish in singles competition with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over her opponent at second singles followed by Cassady earning the winning point, defeating her counterpart at first singles 6-3, 6-2. Figiel was the next to conclude her day, winning 6-4, 6-2 at third singles to put the Hounds up 6-0 in the match
- Merone earned a 6-4, 6-0 win at fourth singles and Stapleton posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory at sixth singles as Lombardo concluded the match with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at fifth singles to give Moravian a 9-0 victory
