Moravian Sweeps Juniata in Landmark Conference Contest

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis squad earned a 9-0 sweep of visiting Juniata College in Landmark Conference action at Hoffman Courts Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds took all three doubles matches by the score of 8-0. Juniors Maddie Figiel and Cristina Merone finished first while senior Morgan Colver and junior Julianne Cassady won at second doubles. The duo of sophomore Mara Stapleton and freshman Rose Lombardo posted the triumph at third doubles
  • Figiel made it 4-0 with a quick 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles while Cassady clinched the winning team point with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at first singles. Colver posted a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in her second singles match as did Stapleton at sixth singles. Merone won 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles while Lombardo earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fifth singles
