Hounds Post Eight Top 10s in Alvernia PLEX Shootout

READING, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's indoor track & field team recorded eight top 10 finishes in the non-scoring Alvernia University PLEX Shootout on Saturday.

Event Winners

  • Sophomore Lexi Groff captured first in the high jump at an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying height of 1.61 meters (5-3.25) 

Top 10 Finishes

  • Junior Helen Davis ran a PR and AARTF qualifying time of 8.04 seconds to finish as the runner-up in the 60-meter dash while freshman Abby Giamoni was sixth in the finals in 8.17 seconds. Davis posted a time of 8.11 in the 60-meter dash preliminaries to head to the finals in third while Giamoni posted a PR time of 8.17 seconds in the prelim head to the final in sixth place
  • Davis was also the runner-up in the 200-meter dash with a PR and AARTF qualifying time of 26.42 seconds
  • Senior Natalie Stabilito took second in the mile run with an AARTF qualifying time of 5:15.88, and she also placed sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:28.13
  • The Greyhounds "A" 4x200-meter relay squad of Davis, Giamoni and freshmen Lizzy Blaski and Bella DeMassa finished third in a time of 1:51.47 while the "B" team of juniors Crystal Robinson, Elizabeth DeMassa and Haylee Saylor and freshman Racquel Ramey was sixth in 1:54.58 

PR Distances/Times

  • Freshman Ally Meeks ran a PR time of 21:23.88 in the 5,000-meter run while freshman Hannah Kolonoski had a PR of 21:47.51
  • Freshman Ashley Rodrigues posted a PR time of 11.46 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries
  • Freshman Arin Peykar had a PR toss of 10.42 meters (34-2.25) in the shot put while freshman Caillie Fish recorded a PR of 9.01 meters (29-6.75) in the event
  • Junior Rachel Byrne set a PR time in the mile run at 5:43.26 while freshman Amber Poniktera added a PR time of 5:50.25
  • Freshman Zoey Bronson posted a PR time of 1:06.20 in the 400-meter run while Rodrigues also had a PR of 1:08.43 in the race
  • Byrne added another PR in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.58 while freshman Rylie Murphy had a PR of 2:40.63
  • Ramey recorded a PR of 28.95 seconds in the 200-meter dash while Bella DeMassa had a PR of 29.94 seconds
  • Junior Maddie Wickel tossed a PR distance of 11.04 meters (36-2.75) in the 20-pound weight throw while Fish had a PR of 10.26 meters (33-8)
  • Freshman Lily Mingora had a PR time of 12:33.69 in the 3,000-meter run
