Gieryic Honored as Landmark Conference Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior right side hitter Emerson Gieryic has been honored as one of the Landmark Conference Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week.

With the cancellation of the traditional Landmark fall season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Landmark Conference will be recognizing an athlete from each member institution in each conference-sponsored fall sports over the next few weeks. Honorees were nominated for recognition by their respective institution based on achievements from the shortened season and career accolades.

Gieryic saw action in 193 sets over 79 matches in her career with the Greyhounds. She contributed 125 kills, 96 digs, 48 blocks, 34 service aces and seven assists during her four years while averaging 1.0 points per set.

"Emerson has been a consistent presence on the court and has improved immensely in her four-year career," stated Head Coach Shelley Bauder. "She was a captain this year and did a great job keeping us organized and together; we will miss her!"

The Greyhounds are scheduled to close out their 2021 exhibition season on Friday, April 2 when the squad hosts Elizabethtown College in Johnston Hall at 4:00 p.m. With the current conference policy of no fans, be sure to watch live video at https://landmarknetwork.tv/moravian/.
