The next entry in our countdown– the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 4 highlight – the women's tennis team winning its second straight Landmark Conference Championship.

The Greyhounds captured the program's fifth Landmark Conference title with a 5-4 victory over The University of Scranton. The match, played on Mother's Day and indoors at Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse on just two courts, took over nine and a half hours to complete. The Royals would lead 3-0 after doubles action, forcing Moravian to win five of the six singles contests to earn the victory.

Sophomore Maddie Figiel earned a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win at sixth singles to clinch the victory, and Figiel was named the Landmark Conference Tournament's Most Valuable Player. The Greyhounds' other wins came from seniors Emma Angle at first singles, Mary Angle at second singles, Brooke Adams at third singles and Kristen Cassidy at fifth singles, another three-set win for the Hounds.

Moravian, which has a total of 13 conference titles since 1996, would earn the program's fourth NCAA Division III Tournament berth with the victory. The Hounds would head to Rome, Georgia where the squad defeated Transylvania (Ky.) University, 5-4, in the opening round for the program's second NCAA Tournament victory.

Since the start of the 2018-19 season, Moravian has posted a 36-4 record and is 18-0 against Landmark Conference competition.
