Houghton & Stabilito to Compete in 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships on November 20

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Moravian University seniors Shane Houghton and Natalie Stabilito have been selected as individual competitors for the 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships being hosted by Spalding University in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday, November 20.

Houghton qualified for the meet by finishing as part of the top seven individuals not on a qualifying team at Saturday's NCAA Division III Region V/Metro Regional hosted by Rowan University at the Gloucester County DREAM Park. Houghton, who will be making his first appearance in the NCAA Cross Country Championships, was sixth overall in the Metro Regional race in a personal best time of 25:42.8 on the 8,000-meter course to garnered All-Region honors for the first time in his career. Houghton will be one of four Landmark Conference runners at the NCAA Championships with Elizabethtown College's Nicholas Garrett and Christian Schaaf finishing in the top seven at the Region IV/Mideast Regional to claim individual spots and John O'Rourke from The Catholic University of America earning a spot in Region VII/South.

Stabilito, who will be making her first appearance in the NCAA Cross Country Championships as well, was fourth overall in the Metro Regional race with a personal best time of 22:24.1 on the 6,000-meter course to earn All-Region honors for the first time in her career. Stabilito will be one of six Landmark Conference runners at the NCAA Championships with Susquehanna University's Kallan Carter and Marissa Kleman, Elizabethtown's Kelty Oaster and The University of Scranton's Jessica Hoffman finishing in the top seven at the Region IV/Mideast Regional to claim individual spots and Paige Widerotter from Catholic earning a spot in Region VII/South.

The top 35 finishers in the Division III Championships are recognized as All-Americans by the NCAA, and the United States Track and Field Association selects the top 15 for All-America honors.

The men's 2021 NCAA Division III Championship race will be run at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville and is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. Eastern on Saturday with the women's national championship race to follow at 12:00 p.m. The races will be broadcast live on https://www.ncaa.com/.
