Moravian Tennis Teams Begin Spring Season on February 26 Versus Kutztown

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's and women's tennis squads are set to begin the spring portion of their 2021-22 seasons on Saturday, February 26 versus NCAA Division II Kutztown University with the women's contest at 1:00 p.m. and the men to follow at 4:00 p.m. in Timothy Breidegam Field House.

First-year Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas has six women and five men returning this spring that competed in the Landmark Conference campaign in 2021.

The women, who were 3-1 in the fall to begin the 2021-22 season, are the defending Landmark Conference Champions. Junior Maddie Figiel was named the 2021 Landmark Conference Tournament's Most Valuable Player, and she is joined by returning starters juniors Julianne Cassady and Cristina Merone.

The men competed in the Landmark Conference quarterfinals in 2021 and were 2-1 this past fall. Leading the squad are juniors Andrew Hozza, Kieran Pisani and Justin Szaro.
