George Pitsilos ’67 - New Moravian Hall of Fame Inductee

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- George Pitsilos '67, a former baseball student-athlete, is being inducted into the Moravian University Athletic Hall of Fame on October 7, 2022 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Pitsilos, a 1967 Moravian graduate, competed on the baseball team during his career with the Greyhounds. During his four-year career, Pitsilos recorded a .304 batting average with 77 hits, 45 runs, eight doubles, 27 RBIs and 26 stolen bases. He was a four-year starter at shortstop for the Hounds with 123 putouts and 158 assists in the field while helping Moravian to a 45-23 record. Pitsilos, who was a co-captain for the Greyhounds in 1966 and 1967, is a member of the Liberty High School Hall of Fame, the Blue Mountain Baseball Hall of Fame and the Northampton County Legion Hall of Fame.

Pitsilos is being joined by softball student-athlete Erica Klepeisz Kilpatrick '09; men's tennis and soccer player and former men's and women's soccer coach Eric Lambinus '94; two-time NCAA Division III National Champion in the pole vault Abigail Schaffer '12 and four-time NCAA Division III National Champion sprinter Eric Campbell-Woodruff '11 to make up the class of 2022 that will be inducted into the Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame. The 1994, 2001, 2002 and 2003 women's tennis teams will also be inducted on Friday, October 7 while Dr. Stacy Robustelli '97 will receive the Robert Martin Herbstman Award.
