Moravian Names Easterday as Head Men’s & Women’s Swimming Coach

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University has named Matt Easterday as Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach effective May 8.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Easterday to our Moravian family as the next men's and women's swimming coach," commented Assistant Athletic Director Brynn McNamara, who chaired the search committee. "Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the world of NCAA Division III swimming, and it became evident through the search process that he was the right candidate to move our young program forward in the Landmark Conference."

Easterday comes to Moravian after 14 seasons as the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach and Aquatics Director at King's College. He was selected as the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Coach of the Year, and Easterday coached 14 individual conference champions, one relay conference champion and 95 All-Conference honors including 28 First Team selections while leading the Monarchs.

"I want to thank Athletic Director Mary Beth Spirk, Assistant Athletic Director Brynn McNamara, and the entire search committee for the incredible opportunity to be the next Head Swimming Coach at Moravian University," stated Easterday. "I'm extremely excited to get started as I believe Moravian offers the perfect setting for the complete student-athlete. I look forward to building a highly competitive program in the Landmark Conference very soon!"

Easterday's record also includes his teams excelling out of the pool with the women's team at King's making the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholastic All-America for 28 straight semesters and the men's team earning the honor 17 times, and he coached 42 MAC All-Academic selections and four Middle Atlantic Conference Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Easterday also grew the Monarchs' program from a roster of 10 swimmers to more than 40.

In addition to his tenure at King's, Easterday spent two years each as an assistant coach at Franklin & Marshall College and Washington (Md.) College.

Easterday is a 2004 graduate of McDaniel College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration while minoring in sports management. He swam for three seasons for the Green Terror after starting his collegiate career at the University of Maryland.

Moravian will be entering its third season as a varsity program in 2023-24.
