Top 10 Stories of 2022-23 - #4 Men’s 4x100-Meter Relay Sets School Record Twice in Three Days

Men's 4x100 meter relay runners for top 10 story

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing its look back at its 2022-23 athletic campaign. The seventh entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 4 highlight – the men's 4x100-meter relay team setting the school record twice in a span of three days in May.

The Greyhounds' quartet of junior Jarod Santos, sophomores Trevor Gray and Owen Sabastro and freshman Jacob Fenstermaker ran a time of 41.54 seconds in the 4x100 on Monday, May 15 to finish third at the Widener University Final Qualifier. The time broke the 13-year-old mark of 41.56 seconds set by Justin Taylor, Eric Woodruff, Kyle D'Angelo and Warner Jones at the ECAC Division III Championships.

Just over 50 hours later, Santos, Gray, Sabastro and Fenstermaker would set the record again with a time of 41.39 to place third in the 2023 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships hosted by Susquehanna University on Wednesday, May 17. The new time would end up being the second fastest time in the NCAA Division III Metro Region in 2023 to garner the quartet All-Region honors this spring.

The number three story in the countdown will be released on Wednesday, July 26.
