BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing its look back at its 2022-23 athletic campaign. The eighth entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 3 highlight – the men's cross country squad repeating as Landmark Conference Champions.

The Greyhounds scored 33 points in the 2022 Championship meet hosted by Goucher College on Saturday, October 29 to finish nine points ahead of The Catholic University of America. It was the fourth Landmark Conference title for the Blue & Grey and second straight after taking the 2021 championship on a tiebreaker. Overall, Moravian's men's cross country program has a total of 10 conference titles since 1993.

The Hounds had four Landmark All-Conference runners to help with the championship with fifth-year senior Shane Houghton capturing the individual title and Landmark Conference Runner of the Year honors as he finished the 8,000-meter course in 26:10.3. Sophomore Owen Nahf placed second, just three tenths of a second behind Houghton while junior Josh Mangini took third as the duo also garnered Landmark All-Conference First Team accolades. Sophomore Nathan Hajel placed ninth to earn a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team while sophomore Geoffrey Kleinberg rounded out the scoring runners in 18th place. Just two weeks later, all five runners would earn All-Metro Region honors with top 35 finishes in the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships.
