BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University tennis programs have named senior Steve Schneider and juniors Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer as men's team captains for the 2023-24 season and senior Mara Stapleton as the women's captain.

"I am excited to have Steve, Ronny, and Wyatt lead the pack for the 23-24 year," stated Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. "They all have tremendous leadership skills and are excellent role models in how they manage both their academics and tennis."

Schneider has a combined career mark of 12-5 in his career with the Greyhounds. He missed the spring campaign in 2022-23 while studying abroad in Germany as part of this German major at Moravian.

Marshall has recorded a 40-16 combined slate in his two seasons with Moravian including a 19-6 singles mark and a 21-10 doubles record. Off the court, Marshall was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete and earned a spot on the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll last season.

Pimentel Ferrer is 34-13 in his career at Moravian with a 15-7 singles slate and a 19-6 doubles mark. The tandem of Marshall and Pimentel Ferrer was 15-4 in doubles action in 2022-23. Pimental Ferrer was selected as an ITA Scholar-Athlete last year.

"I am thrilled to have Mara lead our young women's team and leave her mark as captain," Freitas said. "She's a leader on and off the court, and she has earned a tremendous amount of respect from her teammates and coaches."

Stapleton has posted a 40-14 career record for the Hounds with a 19-5 mark in singles play and a 21-9 mark in doubles action.

Moravian is slated to begin the 2023 fall season next week with the women traveling to rival Muhlenberg College on Tuesday, September 19 for a 4 p.m. match and the men hosting the Mules on Wednesday, September 20 at 4 p.m. at Hoffman Courts.
