BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey teams is set to start the 2023 campaign on Friday, September 1 with a non-conference match at DeSales University beginning at 7:00 p.m., the first of ten matches that will be played under the lights in 2023.
The Greyhounds will be on the road again on Monday, September 4 for a non-conference match at Stevens Institute of Technology before the 2023 home opener with rival Muhlenberg College on Friday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field. The Blue & Grey head to Misericordia University on Tuesday, September 12 before a three-match home stretch at Makuvek Field. The homestand begins with a Landmark Conference match versus The University of Scranton on Saturday, September 16 followed by a non-conference match with Stockton University on Wednesday, September 20 and another Landmark Conference contest versus The Catholic University of America on Saturday, September 23. Moravian closes out the month with road trips to FDU-Florham on Wednesday, September 26 and Landmark Conference newcomer Wilkes University on Saturday, September 30.
The month of October will see the Hounds play seven contests with four matches at Makuvek Field. The month begins with home contests versus The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, October 4 in the final non-conference match of the year and the second new Landmark Conference opponent Lycoming College on Saturday, October 7. The squad is slated to head to Drew University on Wednesday, October 11 and Susquehanna University on Saturday, October 14 before hosting Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, October 18. Moravian closes out the regular season with a match at Juniata College on Saturday, October 21 before welcoming Goucher College to Makuvek Field on Wednesday, October 25 for the regular season finale.
The Greyhounds, who reached the conference championship match for the first time in program history last fall, look to qualify for the 2023 Landmark Conference Tournament that begins with the first-round game between the fourth and fifth seeds on Saturday, October 28. The semifinals are set for Wednesday, November 1 at the top two seasons and the finals are slated for Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seeds' home field.
