HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's basketball team dropped its first road game of the shortened 2021 season, falling at Juniata College, 66-53, in Landmark Conference action Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
- The Eagles scored the game's first eight points before senior guard Matt O'Connor netted a three-pointer for the Hounds
- Moravian trailed 11-6 after freshman guard Alex Dietz drained a three-pointer; however, Juniata scored 10 of the next 12 points to pull ahead 21-8
- The Blue and Grey would get with seven points at 23-16 on a three-pointer from sophomore guard Nate Dougherty with just over five minutes before the intermission but Juniata headed to the locker room with a 30-18 edge
- The Eagles kept the lead in double digits during the entire second half with the edge reaching 20 points on three occasions
Firsts for the Hounds
- Freshman forward Mike DiPietro made his first collegiate start and had three points and three rebounds.
- Dietz netted the first five points of his college career while freshman guard C.J. Weber scored the first four points of his career
- Freshman guard Justin LaBrusciano and freshman guard/forward Eric Shuttleworth saw their first collegiate action while sophomore guard Samuel Yadush made his first appearance of the season
Inside the Numbers
- Sophomore guard Greg Eck scored a team-high 16 points
- Senior guard Keith Otto grabbed a career-high eight rebounds to go with nine points for the Hounds
- Moravian forced Juniata into 22 turnovers while committing just 13 turnovers in the contest
