BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's basketball team dropped an 81-64 decision to visiting The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action in Johnston Hall Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored the opening two points of the game on a jumper from freshman forward Nate Santiago. Moravian led again at 4-3 after two free throws from sophomore forward Mike DiPietro and at 6-5 when sophomore guard C.J. Weber hit a jumper. However, that would be Moravian's last lead of the contest as a 7-0 run from the Cardinals put Catholic in the lead for good at 12-6
  • The Cardinals stretched the advantage to as many as 17 points in the first half, leading 33-16 at the five-minute mark, and Catholic would head to the locker room with a 39-25 edge after the first 20 minutes of action
  • Santiago opened the second half with a three-pointer and started a 12-2 run as the Blue and Grey closed within four points at 41-37 after a lay-up from junior guard Nate Dougherty with 16 minutes to play. However, the Cardinals answered back and pushed their edge back into double digits. The closest the Hounds would get from that point was a nine-point deficit, 62-53, after a lay-up from senior guard Danny Cooper with 6:15 remaining

Inside the Numbers
