DALLAS, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's basketball team fell to host Misericordia University, 98-84, in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Cougars netted the first five pints of the game before Greyhound freshman guard Porter Kelly drained a three-pointer. The Hounds pulled within a point twice in the first five minutes of action, at the 16:47 mark on a pair of free throws by graduate student guard Danny Cooper and again just over a minute later on two free throws from Kelly that made it 10-9. Misercordia stretched the advantage out to eight points while the Blue and Grey made it a two-point game again at 28-26 on a jumper by Cooper with 10:30 left in the first half
  • Misericordia embarked on a 9-0 run to push the edge to 11 points, and the Cougars had a 12-point advantage with 2:55 until the intermission. Moravian ran off seven straight points with a lay-up from sophomore forward Nate Santiago making it 49-44 a minute and a half later. Misericordia netted the final basket of the half to head to the locker room with a 51-44 lead
  • Moravian slowly chipped in the second half and once again made it a four-point game at 61-47 after a three-pointer from Cooper at the 12:10 mark; however, that would as close as the Greyhounds would get the rest of the way
