Leonardo Selected College Sports Communicators Men’s Basketball Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University junior guard/forward Michael Leonardo has been selected to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve that has played in 90 percent of the team's contest or started 66 percent of the team's games in 2023-24. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®. Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The CSC Academic All-America® teams will be announced Wednesday, April 17 for men's basketball.

Leonardo, a management major with a 3.53 GPA, started 24 of the 25 games this winter for Moravian, and he averaged 7.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest while leading the Greyhounds with 96 assists and 27 steals. Leonardo also contributed 21 blocked shots this winter and was third on the squad with 33 three-pointers. In three seasons, he has 368 points, 309 rebounds, 228 assists, 11th in program history, 55 steals and 45 blocked shots while starting 39 of 75 career games. As a sophomore in 2022-23, Leonardo dished out 104 assists, the seventh best season in program history, and he is just one of eight players to have more than 100 assists in a single season. Leonardo will be a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

The Greyhounds were 9-16 this year.
