Moravian Places 4th at Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Classic

The Moravian College golf team placed fourth of 19 teams at the Elizabethtown College Fall Blue Jay Classic played on the East Course at the Hershey Country Club Thursday. The Greyhounds had a team score of 306 while Stevenson University won the tournament with an even 300. Messiah College took second with 301 while McDaniel College was third at 304.

Junior Thomas Fenyak led the Greyhounds with a round of 72 on the par-71 course finish second after a comparison of scorecards of the 94 golfers in the tournament. Fenyak edged out Stevenson's Al El Kordi with a better score on the seventh hardest hole (which was the par 3, 202-yard 8th). Fenyak and El Kordi had matched each other on the previous six hardest holes. Senior Scott Stires was tied for 13th with a round of 77 while senior John Dimler fired a round of 78 for Moravian. Senior Sam Stires finished 24th after an 18-hole total of 79 while freshman Scott Nevenglosky rounded out the Greyhounds' line-up with a 106.
