Empire 8 Tabs Feuz as Associate Commissioner

ROCHESTER, NY – The Empire 8 Athletic Conference has appointed Janelle Feuz as its first ever Associate Commissioner effective July 1, 2012.

"Janelle's skill sets and experience are impressive," says Chuck Mitrano, Empire 8 Commissioner. "She is a highly respected professional in intercollegiate athletics and we are very excited to have her energy and leadership in the Empire 8."

Feuz joins the Empire 8 after spending the last three years in the State University of New York Athletic Conference office including two as Assistant Commissioner.

"I am excited and honored to have been selected as the Associate Commissioner of the Empire 8 Conference," says Feuz. "It is apparent that the members of the Empire 8 are committed to working together and fostering an environment of success."

Her duties with Empire 8 will include handling all aspects of public relations for the conference's 23 sports, enhancing the E8's social media presence, overseeing the conference Sport and Student-Athlete Advisory Committees; creating conference schedules, overseeing the E8's nationally renowned Conduct Foul Program, and handling aspects of the conference budget to name a few.

Prior to joining the SUNYAC in August 2010 Feuz was the Assistant Sports Information Director at The College at Brockport from August 2009 to July 2010. She was hired as one of the youngest Sports Information Director's in the country at SUNY New Paltz in 2006. Feuz's first stint in a conference office was in 2005-2006 when she served as the SUNYAC Publicist.

Feuz graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a B.A. in Communications in 2005 and earned her M.S. in Physical Education and Athletic Administration from The College at Brockport in May 2012. A native of Cattaraugus, NY, Feuz graduated from Cattaraugus Little Valley Central School in 2001. She is the daughter of Richard and Teresa Feuz of Cattaraugus, NY.

Empire 8 is comprised of Alfred University (NY), Elmira College (NY), Hartwick College (NY), Houghton College (NY), Ithaca College (NY), Nazareth College (NY), St. John Fisher College (NY), Stevens Institute of Technology (NJ), and Utica College (NY). Empire 8 sponsors 23 sports and includes eight affiliate members.
