Moravian Drops First Landmark Conference Match of 2022 with Loss to Catholic on Senior Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2022 Landmark Conference season, falling to visiting The Catholic University of America, in conference play at John Makuvek Field Saturday as the Greyhounds celebrated Senior Day. 

How It Happened

  • The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute, and Catholic held that edge through the intermission
  • Catholic added goals in the 54th, 61st and 84th minutes in the second half to finish off the scoring 
  • Prior to the contest, Moravian honored its seven seniors – defender Dan Apryasz, midfielder Ryan Cole, defender Kyle Dixon, midfielder Quinn Middleton, midfielder Kyle Smilon, midfielder Carson Snyder and forward Reed Sturza

Inside the Numbers

  • Junior goalie Andrew Remias registered six saves in 66 minutes while junior Christian Beebe played the final 24 minutes
  • Catholic had a 15-3 edge in shots and a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks
