Men's Tennis Falls to Muhlenberg 8-1 in Season Finale

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team closed out its 2012 season with an 8-1 loss to rival Muhlenberg College Friday.

The Greyhounds close the season with an 8-6 record after competing in the postseason this past Wednesday for the sixth straight year. With the win by the Mules, the two schools finish the 2011-12 Matte Award standings with eight wins each, the third time that the standings have finished in a tie.

In the men's tennis match today, Muhlenberg led 2-1 after doubles action with the duo of second Drew Shreter and freshman Lewis Cooper earning an 8-5 win at second doubles.  With the victory, Shreter ties senior Kevin Holze for the school record in career doubles wins as each player finishes their career with 43 victories.

Cooper had the closest singles match for the Greyhounds, winning his opening set in a tiebreaker at fourth singles before dropping the next two sets.
