Greyhounds Rally to Defeat Juniata and Extend Winning Streak to Ten

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team rallied from a 4-2 deficit for a 5-4 victory over visiting Juniata College in Landmark Conference action in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse as the Greyhounds extended their winning streak to 10 consecutive matches.

How It Happened

  • The Hounds opened the contest with an 8-1 victory at first doubles from the tandem of junior Anthony Ronca and sophomore Shayaan Farhad. However, the Eagles captured the other two contests including a tiebreaker at third doubles to take a 2-1 edge in the contest
  • Juniata also won the first singles match to finish to push its advantage to 3-1 before Farhad earned a three-set victory at first singles to pull Moravian back within a point. The Eagles countered with a three set triumph at third singles to move ahead 4-2 before the Blue & Grey won the final three singles contests to earn the victory. Freshman Gavin Labbadia started the run with a straight sets win at fifth singles while sophomore Ryan Burke evened the match with a straight sets victory at sixth singles. Junior Ronny Pimentel Ferrer captured the final point to win the match with a straight sets triumph at fourth singles
