Hounds Outlast Catholic to Clinch Third Seed & Home Match in Landmark Conference Tournament

COLLEGE PARK, Md. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team outlasted host The Catholic University of America, 5-4, Saturday in a match delayed over six hours and moved indoors to the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland as the Greyhounds clinched the third seed in the 2024 Landmark Conference Tournament and a home match in the first round with the victory.

How It Happened

  • The Blue & Grey trailed 2-1 after doubles action with just the tandem of sophomore Ryan Burke and freshman Gavin Labbadia earned an 8-7 (7-5) win at third doubles
  • Catholic earned the first singles point before Labbadia made it 3-2 with an 8-6 victory at fifth singles. Junior Wyatt Marshall evened the contest with an 1-6, 6-1, 10-8 triumph at third singles. The Cardinals pulled back in front with another win before junior Ronny Pimentel Ferrer evened the match again with a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 victory at fourth singles. Burke clinched the win with an 8-4 triumph at sixth singles
