MADISON, N.J. – Senior Matthew Lutcza (Dingmans Ferry, Pa./Delaware Valley HS) of the Moravian College men's cross country team was honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the week of September 26. This is Lutzca's second time this season has been honored by the conference.
Lutzca was the Greyhounds' top finisher at the Dickinson College Long/Short Invitational. He ran the 8,000-meter long course and placed second out of 184 runners with a time of 26:42, which ranks as the second-fastest 8K time in the Landmark this year.
Lutzca is also has Moravian's top time this season in the 6K, running a 18:59.30 at the Lehigh University Invitational.
The Greyhounds return to action this Friday when they'll race at the 38th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run at Lehigh University. The start of the race is scheduled for 10 a.m.
