Hounds Fall to No. 3 TCNJ in Non-Conference Action

EWING, N.J. --- The Moravian University women's lacrosse squad fell to No. 3 The College of New Jersey, 21-4, in non-conference action on the road Tuesday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Lions scored the first three goals of the match before sophomore midfielder Alex Cherenson found the net for the Greyhounds. TCNJ scored four more times to lead 7-1 after 15 minutes of action
  • The Lions netted the first goal of the second quarter while senior midfielder Megan Donnelly hit the cage at the 11:31 mark for the Blue & Grey. TCNJ added five more goals to head to the intermission with a 13-2 advantage
  • Moravian scored twice in the third quarter with goals from graduate student attack Brittany Bill and sophomore attack Jackie Salvatore; however, the Lions tallied four times to hold a 17-4 edge after 45 minutes of play
  • TCNJ finished the scoring four goals in the fourth quarter 

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian had seven different players record points with Cherenson, Donnelly, Bill and Salvatore. Donnelly also had three ground balls, three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls while Bill recorded six draw controls
  • Senior attack Devin King, freshman midfielder Giana Lotitto and junior defender Alise Downey all posted assists
  • Senior goalie Rylie Soltis registered four saves in 45 minutes of action while senior goalie Brelyn Friedman played the final 15 minutes
  • Junior defender Keara Reilly added a pair of ground balls and two caused turnovers
