Women's Soccer Drops Drew, 2-0

MADISON, N.J. – The Moravian College women's soccer team defeated Landmark Conference foe Drew University, 2-0, Saturday afternoon. With the win the Greyhounds improve to 2-0 in the conference and 6-4-1 overall.

Both teams would battle to a 0-0 draw in the first half. The Greyhounds outshot the Rangers 4-2 in the first half and held the corner kick advantage 6-0.

Freshman forward Melissa Pavia would break the tie in the 63rd minute when she ripped a shot that went in the top corner to put Moravian up 1-0. Sophomore midfielder Kirsten Schall would put the game out of reach by netting a goal in the 81st minute.

Senior goalkeeper Tori Korona posted her first shutout of the year after recording three saves. Her counterpart senior goalie Kim Jaikissoon made five saves while allowing two goals.

The Greyhounds outshot the Rangers 11-8 and held the corner kick edge at 10-3.

Moravian returns to play on Wednesday, October 3rd as they host Penn State-Berks. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
