Women's Soccer Falls to Haverford

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Moravian College women's soccer team fell to Haverford College, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon.

The Fords would strike first in the 26th minute with a breakaway goal from sophomore forward Connie Friedman. Friedman extended Haverford's lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute with her second goal off a pass from freshman midfielder Jo Haller. By the end of the first half, the Fords held the shot advantage 8-6, but the Greyhounds held the edge in corner kicks at 5-0.

Junior midfielder Caroline Clark had a chance to cut the Hounds deficit to one goal in the 75th minute, but sent her shot just over the crossbar. Haverford would two more goals in the second half to go onto win 4-0.

Junior goalkeeper Genevieve Chaleff tallied seven saves in the lost while her counterpart sophomore Robin Chernow made eight saves to earn the victory.

Haverford held the shot advantage 18-12, but Moravian had the edge in corner kicks at 6-1.

The Greyhounds return to action on Tuesday, October 16th as they host Landmark Conference rival The University of Scranton. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the HUB Quad.
