Greyhounds Fall to Scranton in Overtime, 1-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Moravian College women's soccer team fell to Landmark Conference foe The University of Scranton, 1-0, in overtime on Tuesday afternoon.

In the first half, neither team would give an inch in this defensive battle. The Greyhounds held the shot advantage after 45 minutes at 5-4, while both teams matched each other with one corner kick.

It was much of the same in the second half both teams would take the 0-0 tie into overtime. At the end of 90 minutes the Royals held a 14-10 shot advantage, and the edge in corner kicks at 7-3.

Freshman defender Erin Casey ended it for the Royals just one minute into overtime. Sophomore defender Ellen Walker served up the cross to Casey off a corner kick to give Scranton the victory.

Senior goalkeeper Tori Korona tallied up eight saves in the loss while her counterpart, junior Kelsy McAnelly had four saves.

Moravian returns to the pitch on Thursday, October 18th as they host Rutgers-Camden. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the HUB Quad.
