Greyhounds Play to Scoreless Draw with Catholic on Senior Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad played to a scoreless draw with visiting The Catholic University of America on Saturday in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field as the Greyhounds celebrated Senior Day. 

How It Happened

  • The Cardinals had a shot on goal in the second minute of action while sophomore midfielder Taylor Yoder sent a free kick just over the cross bar in the 24th minute, but neither team found the net in the first half
  • The second half was more of the same with sophomore defender Hailey Scaff putting a long shot on goal in the final seconds before the draw
  • The Greyhounds honored seniors defender Caroline Doyle, forward Emma Lenthe and midfielder Jess Yanovitch prior to the start of the contest

Inside the Numbers

  • Junior goalie Payce Korpics played the first 45 minutes of the match and had three saves while junior keeper Paige Harrison played the second half and also made three stops
  • Catholic held a 14-9 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks
