Five Greyhounds Named College Sports Communicators Women’s Soccer Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University senior midfielder Jess Yanovitch, juniors goalie Payce Korpics and defender Lauren Latchford and sophomores defender Kylie Hughes and midfielder Lexi Rushatz have been named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

By making the All-District Team, all five student-athletes are now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Tuesday, December 6.

The quintet helped the Greyhounds to a 6-6-5 overall mark this year, and the team was 1-4-2 in Landmark Conference action. The Hounds posted nine shutouts in 17 matches in 2022.

Yanovitch, a nursing major and Spanish minor with a 3.91 grade-point average, started all 17 matches this year for the Blue and Grey. In her career, Yanovitch saw action in 38 contests with 32 starts. She was named to the 2022 Landmark Conference Fall All-Sportsmanship Team and is a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Korpics, a nursing major and business minor with a 3.60 GPA, started 13 of the 17 matches in goal this fall for Moravian, and she had a 3-3-2 mark with three solo shutouts and six combined shutouts to go along with 65 saves and a 0.87 goals-against average in 1,035 minutes of action. In her career, Korpics is 9-7-3 with 91 saves and an 0.86 goals-against average in 1,681 minutes, and she was named to the 2021 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Latchford, a biology major and chemistry minor with a 3.77 grade-point average, saw action in 16 matches this season with a pair of starts, and she had one goal which was a game-winning tally. Latchford has played in 20 matches during her career with the Greyhounds, and she has one goal. She earned a spot on the 2021 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Hughes, a biochemistry major with a 4.00 grade-point average, started all 17 matches this season and contributed a goal and an assist. In two years, Hughes has played in 32 contests with 30 starts and has two goals and an assist for the Hounds.

Rushatz, a political science major and business management minor with a 3.83 grade-point average, saw action in all 17 contests in 2022, and she netted a pair of goal with one game-winning marker. Rushatz has played in 32 career matches with nine starts and two goals.
