BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad remained unbeaten in 2023 with a 2-0 shutout victory over visiting Cedar Crest College in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field in a match that was played over two days in a 24-hour window due to weather.

How It Happened

• The contest began on Friday at 4 p.m. but would go into a weather delay with just over 21 minutes remaining in the first half. The lightning remained within 10 miles of John Makuvek Field beyond the NCAA rule of three hours to restart the contest, forcing the squads to finish the match Saturday afternoon
• Just as the weather delay was called on Friday, the Greyhounds netted the opening goal as junior midfielder Chelsea Meltzer took a sliding shot on a cross from junior defender Kylie Hughes to beat the keeper in the 24th minute
• The contest remained 1-0 until the 83rd minute when sophomore midfielder Colby Roach took a pass from freshman defender Reagan Bleiler and put the shot into the upper right corner of the net

Inside the Numbers

• Meltzer's goal was her first of the season and the second of her career while Roach netted her first career marker
• Hughes recorded her second career assist and first point of 2023 while Bleiler earned her second assist of the season
• Senior goalie Payce Korpics started the contest and made one save in the opening half of action while senior keeper Paige Harrison played the second half of the match
• The contest was the Greyhounds' only home non-conference match of the 2023 season
