BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team shutout visiting Wilkes University, 3-0, in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday.
How It Happened
- The squads played a nearly scoreless first half until the Hounds broke onto the scoreboard in the 42nd minute as senior forward Danielle Bishop found the goal off a pass from junior defender Megan Colton for a 1-0 lead
- The Blue & Grey doubled the advantage in the 61st minute when junior forward Carly Pyatt put a shot in the net for a 2-0 edge
- Moravian finished off the scoring in the 79th minute as junior midfielder Sydney DeFranco deposited a pass from senior forward Amanda Aloia in the net
Inside the Numbers
- Bishop's goal was her the first of her career while Pyatt added her fourth marker of the season and fifth career goal. DeFranco tallied her first goal of 2023 and second of her career
- Colton registered her first career point with the assist on Bishop's goal while Aloia earned her second career assist
- Senior goalie Payce Korpics made one save while playing the first half of the contest. Senior goalie Paige Harrison also had one save in the final 45 minutes as the duo combined on their fourth shutout of 2023 and the 18th combined shutout of their careers
- The Hounds held a 9-7 edge in shots and a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks
