BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer team posted a 3-0 shutout victory over visiting Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action on a rainy John Makuvek Field Saturday.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring in the 14th minute when junior forward Carly Pyatt put a loose ball after a corner kick into the net
- Moravian doubled its advantage to 2-0 in the 38th as junior defender Hailey Scaff drilled a penalty kick into the goal
- The Hounds finished off the scoring in the 72nd as junior midfielder Sydney DeFranco put a shot in the upper right corner of the net from outside the 18-yard box
Inside the Numbers
- Pyatt netted her team-leading fifth goal of the season and the sixth of her career
- Scaff scored her first career goal while DeFranco contributed her second goal of 2023 and third of her career
- Senior goalie Payce Korpics recorded three saves in the first half of the contest while senior goalie Paige Harrison posted a pair of saves in the second half. For Korpics and Harrsion, it was the seventh combined shutout this season and the 21st of their careers together at Moravian
- The Blue & Grey had an 11-9 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks
