BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit for a 3-2 win over visiting Elizabethtown College on John Makuvek Field Tuesday evening as the Greyhounds clinched a top-four seed and a home Landmark Conference Tournament match with the triumph and gave Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk his 150th career victory as a collegiate coach.

How It Happened

  • The Blue Jays jumped out to a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal in the seventh minute
  • After having a shot hit the crossbar in the 27th minute, Elizabethtown doubled its lead to 2-0 with just 24 seconds left in the first half as a shot bounced off of the goalies' hands and the crossbar into the goal
  • Moravian got onto the scoreboard two and a half minutes into the second half as junior forward Carly Pyatt put the ball inside the right post off a pass from junior midfielder Sydney DeFranco
  • With just over 15 and a half minutes to play, DeFranco knotted the score on a penalty kick into the lower right corner of the net
  • Moravian found the go-ahead goal in the 80th minute as senior forward Lindsay Mullin found a loose ball in the six-yard box and drilled it into the net for the Blue & Grey

Inside the Numbers

  • Ykoruk is in his 10th year leading the Greyhounds with a mark of 65-59-22. He was the Head Coach at Ursinus College for nine seasons with an 85-62-15 slate for a career record of 150-121-37 in 19 years as a collegiate head coach
  • Pyatt netted her team-leading sixth goal of 2023 and the seventh of her career
  • DeFranco contributed her third goal of the season and fourth of her career. It was her first collegiate penalty kick goal, and DeFrano also earned her first career assist on Pyatt's goal
  • Mullin put in her third goal of the season and the fourth of her career as well
  • Senior goalie Payce Korpics registered one save in the first half of the contest while senior goalie Paige Harrison made three saves in the final 45 minutes to secure the victory
  • The Hounds finished the contest with a 13-11 edge in shots while both squads took two corner kicks
