Greyhound Women Wrap Up Inaugural Swim Season

BOYDS, Md. --- The Moravian University women's swimming squad concluded their inaugural season of competition at the Landmark Conference Championship on Sunday. The first session of the day began at 10:00 a.m. and final qualifiers competed in the 5:00 p.m. session.

How it Happened

  • Freshman Catie Lovett, junior Marissa Werner and junior Sydney Steere each competed in the 100-yard freestyle during the morning session on Sunday. Lovett finished in a PR time of 58.67 seconds while Werner swam the event in 1:02.96 for a new personal best by more than two seconds and Steere completed the race in a time of 1.05.46 for a three-second PR
  • Freshman Sarah Mazzetti swam in the 200-yard breaststroke and finished in 3:02.60 for a personal best that trimmed 5.17 seconds from her seed time
  • Junior Jaelyn Mitchell competed in the 200-yard butterfly and touched the wall for the final time in 2:28.22 to shatter her previous PR by 14 seconds and earn an appearance in the B Final. Mitchell posted a time of 2:30.43 in the B Finals to finish 13th overall in the event
  • The quartet of Lovett, Mitchell, Steere and Werner swam in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing in a time of 4:03.10 for an 11 second PR
  • The Greyhounds totaled 96 points at the conclusion of their first Landmark Conference Championships for an 8th place finish
