Moravian Women Finish Tenth at Landmark Conference Championships as Lovett Sets Third School Record of Meet

BALTIMORE, Md. --- The Moravian University women's swimming squad finished tenth at the four-day 2024 Landmark Conference Championships at the Loyola (Md.) University Mangione Aquatic Center that concluded Sunday. 

How It Happened

  • Junior Catie Lovett broke the school record in the 100-yard freestyle "B" finals with a time of 56.30 seconds to finish 11th in the event and score six points for Moravian. Lovett has set the school record earlier in the game a time of 56.34 seconds in the preliminaries to advance to the "B" finals in 12th place
  • Junior Lydia Devlin swam a personal best time of 59.22 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle prelims to finish 18th
  • Junior Sarah Mazzetti took 22nd in the preliminaries of the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 3:02.64
  • Freshman Mia Espinal recorded a PR time of 1:10.89 in the 100-yard freestyle preliminaries to place 28th
  • The quartet swam a time of 4:08.16 in the 400-yard freestyle relay, the third fastest time in program history, to place tenth and earn 14 points to close out the championships. Lovett swam the first 100 in 55.84 seconds to break the school record for the third time on the day as the first 100 yards of the relay is eligible for school records
  • The Hounds finished with 62 points over the four-day meet
